Emergency Procedures


Fire
  • If a fire or smoke is observed, move immediately to safety and call 911 
  • In the event of a fire, remain calm, follow instructions, and move to the nearest exit 
  • Notify Security: 
    • Call the front desk (480) 572-0670  
    • Send a text request to (480) 572-0606 
    • Scan the QR code on one of the digital signs 
  • Prior to any emergency, know the location of all exits and look for posted maps that have emergency evacuation routes 
  • During an emergency, guests will receive notification from: 
    • Staff verbal announcements
    • Digital Signs and TV monitors 
    • PA Announcements 
  • If directed to evacuate, guests should find the nearest exit and move toward an Assembly Area, located on the property
  • Do not use elevators during a fire
  • There are four (4) designated Assembly Areas in the parking lot area (see map). These areas are intended to support:
    • Medical triage/transport area 
    • Accountability 
    • Reunification
Medical Emergency Incident
  • For Security assistance or to report information: 
    • Call the front desk at (480) 572-0670
    • Send a text to (480) 572-0606
    • Scan the QR code on one of the digital signs 
  • Call 911 for emergency medical assistance 
    • If possible, assist emergency responders with ingress and egress
    • Provide emergency responders with a location and landmark 
General Evacuation 
  • Guests may be asked to evacuate the facility in the event of an emergency including but not limited to severe weather, lightning and fire
  • Guests should familiarize themselves with evacuation routes, available on maps posted around the facility 
  • Guests will be notified of the need to evacuate by means of: 
    • Verbal instructions from staff or security personnel 
    • A fire alarm 
    • Digital signs 
    • PA announcements 
  • If asked to evacuate:
    • Remain calm 
    • Follow instructions 
    • If you can do so safely, provide assistance to those in need of additional help
    • Use the nearest available exit
    • Look for an assembly area for additional assistance
      • Assembly Areas are located in the parking lot area to the west, north, and east
    • Wait for the "ALL CLEAR" from staff before re-entering the facility 
Security Incident  
  • For Security assistance or to report information: 
    • Call the front desk at (480) 572-0670
    • Send a text to (480) 572-0606 
    • Scan the QR code on one of the digital signs 
  • Call 911 for emergency assistance from law enforcement or the fire department
Lost child  
  • For Security assistance regarding a lost child:
    • Call the front desk at (480) 572-0670
    • Send a text to (480) 572-0606 
    • Scan the QR code on one of the digital signs 
  • Any lost child found or reported by a guest or staff member will be turned over to security immediately 
  • At least two staff members will remain with the lost child until a parent or guardian is located 
  • Security will be in contact with the Front Desk and other staff members until a parent or guardian is located 
  • Security will contact law enforcement to assist if needed 
  • If a child is missing and may be the victim of a crime, call 911 immediately 
Lightning and Severe Weather 
  • Lightning poses a serious risk during thunderstorms and our staff monitors the proximity of lightning strikes to the facility. While we will make every effort to minimize any disruption to your experience, we ask for your patience and cooperation with our lightning safety procedures
  • In the event of approaching weather, our staff will communicate the potential for the evacuation of outdoor spaces to event coordinators and guests
  • When it is time to evacuate, AAG staff members will provide verbal instructions to seek shelter indoors or inside vehicles
  • In addition to communication directly from staff, AAG utilizes digital screens throughout the facility with the following messages:
    • "Weather Watch" 
      • Lightning delays and evacuation possible. Prepare to exit the fields or courts if instructed
    • "Lightning Delay" 
      • Please proceed to safety indoors or inside your vehicle immediately 
    • "Weather Alert" 
      • There is severe weather in the area. Please proceed to safety indoors or inside your vehicle immediately
    • "All Clear" 
      • The weather alert has been lifted. Outdoor venues are now open
  • Instructions for Guests:
    • Remain calm 
    • Listen for instructions from AAG Staff 
    • Look for alerts on digital signs  
    • When asked to "EVACUATE" seek shelter indoors or inside vehicles  
    • Wait for the "ALL CLEAR" from AAG Staff prior to leaving shelter  
Power Outage 
  • A loss of power may cause a delay to scheduled events or evacuation
  • The facility is equipped with backup generators
  • Staff and security personnel will:
    • Determine the cause of the power outage
    • Learn the estimated length of time for the restoration of power
    • Determine if an evacuation is necessary
Vehicle Collision  
  • For Security assistance or to report information:

  • Call 911 for emergency assistance from law enforcement or the fire department 
Heat Related Emergency 
  • For Security assistance or to report information:

  • Call 911 for emergency assistance from law enforcement or the fire department 
  • Exposure to extreme heat can lead to dangerous and potentially life-threatening illnesses. Symptoms of these conditions may include high body temperature, rapid pulse, nausea, and/or fainting. Recognizing symptoms early is critical. Seek medical attention immediately, by calling 9-1-1 or your local emergency number, and take steps to cool down, including moving to a cooler location, lying down, applying cool, wet cloths to the body, and sipping water 
  • According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, to mitigate the risks of heat-related illnesses, it is crucial to: 
    • Drink plenty of water
    • Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day. If your home is not air-conditioned, visit public cooling centers 
    • Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, and protect yourself from the sun 
    • Check on friends, family, and neighbors, especially those at higher risk of heat-related illnesses
    • Keep up to date with the latest weather forecasts and heat advisories 
AED Program 
  • AAG is an AED (automated external defibrillator) equipped facility 
  • In the event of a medical emergency, call 911 immediately

Suspicious Package 
  • Notify Security of any suspicious package or item
  • For Security assistance or to report information:

  • Do not approach or attempt to touch the suspicious package or item
  • Alert others to the presence of the suspicious package or item and advise them to keep away from the area
  • Wait for further instructions from security or law enforcement before returning to the area
  • If asked to evacuate, remain calm, follow instructions, and move out of the area
Active Shooter/Assailant 
  • Remain calm and confirm information of a valid threat 
  • In the event of a valid threat, Call 911 immediately 
  • Consider the principles of the Run-Hide-Fight methodology, or another related response methodology
  • Decide if you will Evacuate or shelter-in-place? 
  • Move away from danger and toward safety
  • When safe to do so, contact Security

  • Guests will receive informational updates via:
    • Verbal instructions from staff and security personnel 
    • PA announcements 
  • When encountering law enforcement and emergency responders:
    • Keep hands up and visible 
    • Follow instructions 
    • Provide information
  • Wait for the ALL CLEAR before re-entering the facility
